Cheval and Dana connected with me through MindMyHouse.  They were looking for someone to house sit and dog sit for them while they took a short vacation to Santa Fe, NM.   I had plans to spend the fall in the East Coast, so it worked perfectly for me.  Their home is just a short metro ride from downtown Washington D.C.

I had the pleasure of joining their adorable Corgi, Marzipan for walks along the trail across the street from their home.   Marzi was a delight.  She stayed by my side and made sure I followed her schedule.   We took daily walks and played hide-n-seek with her treats.

I was able to take the metro in to Washington D.C. a couple of times for tourist-y adventures — but most of the time I spent on home reading and cooking.  Marzipan was happy to follow me around the house and keep me alerted of the squirrel activity in the backyard.

Responsibilities:

• Corgi dog, Marzipan
• Indoor plants to water
• Taking trash bins to the curb and back
• Daily mail pick up

Extras:

• Daily text messages to Cheval with an occasional picture of Marzipan
• Baked “Welcome Home” banana bread for Cheval and Dana.
